Today is Holy
Thursday of Passion week. This day is also called Maundy Thursday. What is
Maundy? It is a Latin word mandatum which means commandment.
On this day,
Jesus celebrated the last Passover or Holy Communion with His disciples and He
accentuated humility by washing the feet of His disciples. He gave a command to
his disciples in John 13: 34-35 A new commandment l give to you that you love
one another as l have loved you so you must love one another. By this shall all men know that you are My
disciples if you love one another.
Prayer
Lord Jesus
thank you for loving us and showed us the way of love as Your disciples. May we
experience Your abounding love daily to extend Your love in us to love
others. Amen.
